Poorly Drawn Border

Up Catalog

Three stamps, Scott C62 (also 421 &63), issued by the Dominican Republic in 1946 to commemorate the 450th anniversary of the founding of Santo Domingo, feature a map of the island of Hispaniola.
The border between the Dominican Republic and Haiti on the stamp is poorly drawn, a wiggly line in the approximate position of the border, without any relationship to the real shape of the border.
The same poorly drawn border appears on Dominican Republic 570 issued in 1962 and C77 issued in 1950.
