The Delft Bible,
containing the Old Testament is the first book in
Dutch set with moveable type and printed in the Netherlands. The
portion on the stamp is Job 19:23, 24: O that my words were written
down! O that they were inscribed in a book! O that with an iron pen
and with lead they were engraved on a rock forever! Leaden
letters, "d" and "b" and an electronic "a"
are also shown. The stamp was issued in 1977 to mark the 500th
anniversary of the publication of the Delft Bible in 1477.
