The first book known to be
printed in Russia was Apostol, containing the book of Acts and
the Epistles. It was printed in Moscow by Ivan Feodorov in 1564.
Feodorov was the Kremlin clerk of the Nicoli Gostunski Church in
Moscow. Petr Mstislavetz (or Timofieiev) was associated with Feodorov
in this undertaking.
