Stjorn is a compilation
which includes substantial fragments of three separate versions of
part, or the whole, of Jewish history from the Creation to the Exile
(Genesis-Exodus 18, Exodus 19-Deuteronomy, Joshua-2 Kings); the
Gydinga saga, which includes a translation of 1 (and 2) Maccabees; and
the Icelandic text of the Book of Psalms (the Vienna Psalter), copied
by a 16th-century hand into a 13th-century Latin Psalter to function
as a gloss but taken from a translation believed to be
pre-Reformation.
The page shown on the stamp is a portion of a page
which tells the story of Noah and the Ark. It includes miniatures in
the initial of the Ark and three men.
