The stamps identifies the image as Adoration of the Majestes Domini from the prayer book of Otto II, but it is, in fact, from Otto III's prayer book. Otto III was the son of Otto II and Theophano of the Byzantine Empire. He bacame Holy Roman Emperor in 983 when he was three years old. His mother, Theophano, and, on her death in 991, his grandmother, Adelaide, were regents. He ruled as Emperor until 1002. The prayer book is dated to ca. 985.
