The Liber Chronicarum cumfiguris et
ymanginibus ab inicio mundi, (The Nuremberg Chronicle), is a
history of the world and the city of Nuremberg, Germany, published in
1493. This is an image of the comet of September 6, 684 A.D., the oldest appearance
of Halley's comet to be pictured.
Some say
that the picture of the comet in the Chronicle has six points,
but the one which I have seen has eight points as does the picture on
the stamp.
