The semi-postals were issued at Christmas in 1988 with the surtax used for charitable work. The first stamp shows the Angel’s appearance to the shepherds; second, the Nativity; third, the Adoration of the Magi, and fourth, the Flight into Egypt. The miniatures are from a Book of Hours of about 1550 in the French National Library.
