The map on this souvenir
sheet shows the territorial claims of the Republic of China in the
South China Sea. The island in the upper right corner is Taiwan, while
the smaller island on the left side is Hainan. The mainland in the
upper section (left to right) shows Laos, Viet Nam, and the Peoples
Republic of China . A small portion of the Philippine Island of Luzon
appears at the right margin. In the lower section (left to right):
Philippines (orange), Malaysia (yellow), Indonesia (red), and Brunei
(green). The brown line encloses the area claimed by the Republic of
China. The pictures show the monuments built on the islands of Pratas
(left) and Itu Aba (right) by the Ministry of the Interior of the
Republic of China. The sheet was issued in 1996.
