International Women's Year ~ 1975
The first International Women's Year was called for in 1975 by the
United Nations, and a conference on women was convened in Mexico City.
The stamp issued for the International Women's Day was designed by Miriam Schottland
and includes the female gender symbol, ♀,
a dove, an equals sign, and stylized globe gores.
World Peace through Law ~ 1975
The World Peace Through
Law Center was established in 1963 in Athens, Greece, and World Law
congresses were held at two year intervals beginning in 1965 in
Washington, D.C. In 1975 the World Law Congress was again held in
Washington, D.C. with the theme "Women and the Law."
The stamp issued for the 7th World Law Conference of the
World Peace through Law Center in Washington, D.C. includes a law
book, a gavel, and olive branch and a globe on an oblique polar
projection.
