In the series "Sciences of the Earth and the Universe" the first map stamp dealt with "Derived Cartography." The second stamp, issued in 2007, deals with "Basic Cartography." It features a map of the Embasle de Rasarito "the Rasarito Dam," approximately 140 miles west of Toledo, Spain. Basic Cartography represents the results of direct observation and measurement of the earth's surface.
