Gilbert and Ellice Islands 79, 81

     To mark the beginning of air mail service between the Gilbert and Ellice Islands and Fiji in 1964, the Gilbert and Ellice Islands issued a set of three stamps. The stamps have simplified the geography of the Pacific a great deal. On the low value there is only one Gilbert and one Ellice island, while on the high value the Gilbert and Ellice Islands have been reduced to a single point.
