Cook Islands 264-267
The South Pacific Conference has met at 2 or 3 year intervals since
1950. In 1969 the ninth Conference met at Noumea, the capital of New
Caledonia and the headquarters of the South Pacific Commission. The
Commission had 27 members at that time.
The stamp issued by the Cook Islands is one
of a set of four stamp which all have a map of the area. The picture
on the one shown is Captain James Cook. The others have pictures of
Premier Albert Henry of New Zealand, the coat of arms of New Zealand,
and Queen Elizabeth.
