Sweden 2413

     In 2001 Sweden released four stamps in a booklet to welcome the presidency of the European Union’s Council of Ministers.  According to the information on the booklet cover, “One of the most important high-profile issues for Sweden in the EU concerns measures to improve the environment.... One example is the Water Framework Directive, which aims to ensure the availability of high-quality water throughout Europe.”
     Two of the stamps, se-tenant, show the courses of Swedish rivers.
