Jersey 183
In 1978 Jersey issued a set of four stamps to commemorate the
centennial of the Royal Jersey Golf Club, and to honor Harry Vardon
(1870-1937), a professional golfer born in Jersey.
One of the stamps features a map of the Golf Course,
and a representation of a statue of Harry Vardon which stands at the
entrance of the Golf Club. A compass rose in the lower left of the
stamp shows the orientation of the stamp.
