On February 26, 2004 Great Britain issued 10 stamps to mark the 50th anniversary of the publication of The Lord of the Rings. The designs incorporated drawings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The first of the series is a map, drawn by his son, Christopher and printed in 1954 in The Fellowship of the Ring.
