In 1989 Brazil issued a souvenir sheet to celebrate Brasilana ‘89, the international  postal exhibition of the Universal Postal Union. The two major elements of the design are the Paco Imperial do Rio de Janeiro, the Imperial Palace, and a panoramic view of Rio de Janeiro from an engraving by Nicholaas van Geelkerken (Geelkercken) (ca. 1585-1656).
