United States UC56
On the letter sheet there
are several errors in the drawing of the northern hemisphere.
Greenland is out of place, the long green shape over Europe in the
upper latitudes. Japan should be centered over Australia, and
eastern-most part of Asia should extend much further to the east. The
distance between the east coast of Asia and the west coast of Alaska
is much too great.
These errors could be the result of using a projection
like Goode's interrupted homolosine, and then filling in the
interruptions.
The shape of the west coast of North American is poorly
drawn: Florida and the Atlantic coastline of Canada. Hudson Bay is too small. Italy has disappeared.
