The headwaters of the Irrawaddy River were within the borders of Burma at the time the stamp was issued, but they are shown to be in China (the notch in the top of Burma on the map).

 

     In 1953 another set of stamps with a map of Burma was issued. On this map the source of the Irrawady is located correctly.
