Cuba C117
Jaime González Crocier y Crocier (1885-1920) was a pioneer Cuban
aviator. On May 20, 1914 he flew from Cienfuegos to Morro Castle in
Havana, one of the longest flights (178 miles) of the time. The phrase
"vuelo sin escalas" means "non-stop flight." This
flight is shown on the map on the stamp. The stamp was issued to
commemorate the 35th anniversary of Crocier’s death in a plane crash
at La Bien Agradecida, in Luyanó, July 4, 1920.
